Life Care Center of Winter Haven, Florida, honored local first responders on May 24, 2018, with a celebratory breakfast.
“We decided to host this event because the first responders do so much for our community,” said Kristen Curling, director of business development. “We wanted to do something to show them how much we appreciate all that they do.”
More than 40 first responders from Winter Haven and Polk County attended the event. Attendees had a wide variety of food to choose from, such as eggs, omelets, pancakes, bacon and hashbrown casserole. They were also served hot coffee and juice.
“We had no idea the food would be this good,” one first responder from the Winter Haven Fire Department said. “We’re going to spread the word for the next event!”
Curling hinted at another event coming up in July to honor other brave members of the community.
“We could not have done this without all of the hard, behind-the-scenes work from our team here at Life Care Center of Winter Haven,” Curling emphasized.
Members of several different departments pitched in to help organize and staff the event to ensure all the attendees had an enjoyable time.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office jokingly asked if Curling could do the event every day, and the Polk County Fire Department requested that they be invited back later in the day for ice cream.
