Christmas decorators at Life Care Center of Winter Haven, Florida, were walking in a winter wonderland throughout December.

The facility teamed up with local vendors who donated gift baskets and decorated Christmas trees and wreaths for their first Festival of Trees drawing. The event took place on Dec. 19, 2018, to raise funds for their local Meals on Wheels.

The marketing team at the facility worked together to plan the event. The associates created a hot chocolate bar and a sweet treats table for those who attended, which included chocolate spoons, marshmallows, fun toppings, brownies, cookies and many other goodies. A floor nurse donated yummy eggnog for enjoyment as well.

“We had so much fun with this event, and [we] can’t wait to do it again,” said Kirsten Curling, business development director at the facility. “We had so much involvement from our residents, their families, the employees and our community – we had support from the Winter Haven Chamber and many of its members.”

Tickets for the event were $5, or attendees could buy five tickets for $20. The tickets were to be placed in a stocking that was attached to the item the attendee was hoping to win.

“We are thrilled to report that we raised $1,915 for Meals on Wheels,” said Curling.
